Brownie
On January 18, 2019, we received the following letter from an attorney representing a person who believed that we were in possession of a dog that was taken from her yard 5 or 6 years ago. Our findings, evidence and statement to the attorney are listed below. We believe in the work we do at DCDR and completely believe in being completely transparent. We felt that due to circumstances that are out of our control, that we needed to publish this information and clear any misunderstandings that may be circulating.
Dear Jeff Duff,
Please be advised that I represent Redacted. It has come to my attention that your organization is in possession of a 22 year old dachshund that went missing from her residence six years ago. I have been retained to secure the return of this animal to Redacted. I understand that my client has provided you with photographs and medical records relating to the animal and you continue to refuse to return to the dog to her.
Please accept this as a letter of demand to immediately return “Brownie”, previously “Freddie” to my client. Your failure to return the dog to my client will result in an action being filed in Jefferson District Court. My client is totally capable of and wishes to reunite with he dog and care for him for the remainder of his life. You may contact me at 502-933-8600.
Thank you,
David L. Holton
